Ramadan: The Month of God’s Servants
Ramadan is the month dedicated to God’s servants, a time when He opens the doors of His mercy and spreads His blessings far and wide. Together, during this blessed month, we’ll learn about the meaning of fasting, its different types, and the intention behind it. We’ll also discuss what invalidates a fast, the conditions for observing it perfectly, and specific guidelines for patients, pregnant and nursing women, athletes, and laborers. Topics like expiation for breaking a fast, the rules of Zakat al-Fitr, and other relevant issues will be covered. Additionally, we’ll explore the traditions of the Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon them) during Ramadan.
Course Materials
The primary texts for this course include *Resaleh Towzih al-Masa’el* by religious authorities, *Urwah al-Wuthqa*, *Minhaj al-Saliheen*, *Sirat al-Najat*, *Fiqh for Westerners*, and more. Selected rulings from these books will be extracted and taught. We’ll also discuss traditions of the Prophet and the infallible Imams (peace be upon them) from reliable hadith sources such as *Al-Kafi* and *Bihar al-Anwar*.
Course Objectives
The goal of this course is to deepen our understanding of fasting and the month of Ramadan. Another aim is to fast with greater awareness and spiritual insight. Additionally, the course focuses on performing religious rulings and rituals correctly.
