About this course
The Live Sarf and Nahw Course at Imam Sadiq Academy is designed to provide students with a strong foundation in the Arabic language through the systematic study of morphology (Sarf) and grammar (Nahw). Taught by the esteemed scholar Sheikh Muhammad-Hussein Rajabian, this course is ideal for students of Islamic studies, seminary learners, and anyone seeking to understand classical Arabic texts with greater accuracy and confidence. Through live instruction, students benefit from direct engagement with the teacher and opportunities to ask questions and receive guidance.
The Sarf component focuses on the structure and formation of Arabic words. Students will learn how words are derived, how verb patterns function, and how changes in form affect meaning. Mastering Arabic morphology enables learners to recognize vocabulary more effectively and understand the linguistic principles underlying classical Arabic expressions found in the Qur’an, hadith, and scholarly works.
The Nahw component introduces the rules governing sentence structure and grammatical relationships between words. Students will study topics such as grammatical case endings, sentence composition, subjects and predicates, verbal sentences, and other foundational principles of Arabic syntax. These skills are essential for correctly interpreting Arabic texts and appreciating the precision of the language.
By combining the study of Sarf and Nahw, this course equips students with the essential linguistic tools required for advanced Islamic learning.
