About this course
This course consists of ten one-hour sessions that will educate our students the principles of jurisprudence. The chapters are as follows.
1. Introduction to Furoo ad deen (Islamic branches).
2. Ritual purity: Najasaat, Mutahhiraat.
3. Ablution (Wudu).
4. Prayer (Salah)
5. Fasting (sawm).
6. Hajj
7. Khums 8. Jihad.
9. Amr Bil Maroof and Nahy Anil Munkar.
10. Tawalli and Tabarri.

What is Usool ad Deen?
Fundamental beliefs are called Usul al-deen, i.e. Roots of Religion. The Usul al-deen are five: Three are called Roots of Islam. They are:
(1) Tawhid, Belief in oneness of God;
(2) Nubuwwat, Belief in the Prophets;
(3) Qiyamat, 'Belief in the Day of Judgement.
The remaining two Usul al-deen are called Usul al-Iman, Roots of Faith. They are:
(1) 'Adalah, Justice of God and
(2) Imamat, the successorship of the Prophet.
What is Furuoo ad Deen?
Furoo ad deen means branches of religion.
There are 10 furoo ad deen:
1. Salaah
2. Sawm
3. Hajj
4. Khums
5. Zakat
6. Jihad
7. Amr bil maroof
8. Nahi anil munkar
9. Tawalli
10. Tabarri
