About this course
Course Description
Learning to read the Qur’an fluently is a journey that begins with clarity, structure, and a strong foundation. This comprehensive course is designed for absolute beginners as well as those who want to strengthen their reading skills with proper rules and pronunciation. Step by step, you will build mastery of the Arabic script, its sounds, and the essential rules of Qur’anic recitation, ensuring you gain both confidence and fluency.
We begin with the Arabic alphabet and the disjointed letters, giving you a solid understanding of letter shapes and sounds. From there, you will learn the three essential short vowels—fatḥa, kasra, and ḍamma—followed by the long vowels: alif maddā, yā’ maddā, and wāw maddā. These lessons form the backbone of accurate Qur’anic pronunciation.
Next, you will explore foundational reading symbols, including sukūn, tashdīd, tanwīn, and the madd sign, each explained through clear examples and guided practice. As your skills grow, you will learn to recognize and correctly handle silent letters, hamza forms, alif waṣl, shamsi and qamari ‑letters, and long vowels that appear before alif waṣl. These lessons help you read smoothly and avoid common mistakes.
The course then moves into essential Tajweed concepts such as Ishbāʿ (lengthening sounds), reading two consecutive sukūn letters, and understanding stopping signs—a key skill for reading the Qur’an with meaning and flow. You will also learn the rules of Iqlāb, Idghām, and other important recitation markers that appear throughout the Qur’anic text.
Finally, the course concludes with practical application: guided exercises to help you correctly recite common prayer phrases and Qur’anic expressions.
By the end of this course, you will not only read the Qur’an with accuracy—you will read it with confidence, clarity, and a deep understanding of the rules that bring its words to life.
