Imam Sadiq Academy CEO Attends World Federation’s 50th Anniversary Event in London

A special event marking the 50th anniversary of the World Federation of Khoja Shia Ithna-Asheri Muslim Communities was held in London, bringing together prominent figures, scholars, and representatives of international organisations.

During the event, 2nd Chance Books was recognised for its extensive social and cultural contributions. Sheikh Mohammad Baqernejad, Chief Executive Officer of Imam Sadiq Academy and an adviser to 2nd Chance Books, attended the event at the official invitation of the World Federation and delivered an address.

Showcasing Achievements and Presenting the Project Documentary

In his address, sheikh Baqernejad presented a comprehensive overview of the activities and achievements of 2nd Chance Books and showcased a documentary produced by the World Federation about the project.

The presentation aimed to raise public awareness of the initiative, encourage further support, and expand its capacity to provide educational opportunities for incarcerated individuals and others with limited access to learning resources across the United States.

Highlighting the strategic partnership between Imam Sadiq Academy and 2nd Chance Books, he noted:

“With the sponsorship of Imam Sadiq Academy, hundreds of hours of lectures, courses, and specialised educational content have been uploaded to a dedicated educational platform for use in prisons. To date, this valuable content has received more than one million views by incarcerated learners, playing a significant role in enhancing their knowledge and supporting their rehabilitation.”

World Federation Praises the Project’s Nationwide Impact

The presentation also highlighted the extensive reach of 2nd Chance Books’ work, with the reported figures drawing considerable attention from attendees and World Federation representatives.

According to the report presented at the event:

More than 40,000 books have been sent to incarcerated individuals

More than 5,000 incarcerated individuals have benefited from the organisation’s educational and reading programmes

The organisation’s services have reached 47 states across the United States

Representatives of the World Federation praised the sustained efforts and dedication of both 2nd Chance Books and Imam Sadiq Academy, expressing their appreciation for the scale and impact of these humanitarian and educational initiatives.
