The Completion of Divine Religion
Islam, the final and most perfect divine religion, was introduced to the world through Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him and his family). After twenty-three years of dedicated efforts, Islam spread across the entire Arabian Peninsula. On the 18th of Dhu al-Hijjah, at Ghadir Khumm, Allah appointed Imam Ali (AS) as the Prophet’s successor, completing the divine message.
Deviation After the Prophet’s Demise
Despite this clear appointment, conspiracies soon emerged to alter the course of Islamic leadership. The gate of knowledge was shut, and Muslims were left in confusion. The new rulers:
- Prohibited the writing of hadith
- Fabricated narrations
- Introduced distortions and doubts
This led to the concealment of clear Islamic truths, leaving the Muslim ummah divided and misinformed.
Preservation of Islamic Truths
Despite these challenges, Imam Ali (AS), his successors, and loyal companions ensured that Islamic truths remained intact. Their efforts countered falsehoods and clarified misconceptions. Throughout history, Shi’a scholars such as Shaykh al-Mufid, Allama Hilli, and Allama Amini played a vital role in defending true Islamic teachings.
Ayatollah Sayyid Ali Husayni Milani’s Contribution
In modern times, Ayatollah Sayyid Ali Husayni Milani has extensively worked to explain and defend the doctrines of Imamate and Wilayah. The Islamic Truths Centre is honored to research, translate, and publish his valuable works for scholars and students worldwide.
Minhāj al-Karāmah and Ibn Taymiyyah’s Critique
Among the great Shi’a theological works, Minhāj al-Karāmah by Allama Hilli stands out. Ayatollah Milani has provided an extensive commentary, refuting Ibn Taymiyyah’s objections in Minhāj al-Sunnah. This scholarly work also includes the biographies of the infallible Imams (AS), now available as a separate concise book.
